Founded in 1899, NABU (Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union), is one of the oldest and largest environment associations in Germany. NABU’s main objectives are the preservation of habitats and biodiversity, the promotion of sustainability in agriculture, forest management and water supply and distribution, as well as to enhance the significance of nature conservation in our society. The association encompasses more than 600,000 members and sponsors, who commit themselves to the conservation of threatened habitats, flora and fauna, to climate protection and energy policy.
Role:
NABU will play an important role in the requirements elicitation and in disseminating project results beyond the pilot users in Germany and supporting the societal and environmental impact of the enCOMPASS project. They will also contribute to the participant recruitment for the German pilot (Task 7.3 Pilot in the German case study), by bringing active local groups to the project, in collaboration with SHF.
